The Mini Power League witnessed some explosive action from some of the Academy's younger trainees. The first fixtures of the day saw the Semi Finals being played. The first game saw group winners the CCA Vipers take on the team who had finished bottom the CCA Cougars. In the other Semi final, second met third as the CCA Panthers took on the CCA Barracudas.

CCA Cougars won by 6 runs
After losing both group games by small margins in the group stage, the CCA Cougars found their form as they reached the 2012 Mini Premier League Final. Batting first, the Cougars made a healthy 145, with Jaydon Amin striking 42 and Jack Dyer making 14. The Vipers innings was steady throughout, but needing 23 from the last over it proved just too much for the big hitting pair of Jatin Naidu (21 runs from 7 balls) and Nitin Bhatt (14), leaving the Cougars with a 6 run victory.

CCA Panthers won by 3 runs
The CCA Panthers joined the Cougars in the final after another tight finish. The Panthers batted patiently, only losing 4 wickets in their innings. Jasper Devereux made a classy 49 with good support from Aryan Patel who made 22. In reply the Barracudas had great contributions from Oscar Allen (22), James Bennett (21) and Josh McClane (21). Despite some great batting, the bowlers kept picking up wickets with Connor Cushley (3-25), Zubin Bhandi (3-17) and Aryan Patel (2-15) slowing the Barracudas progress. In the end it was the Panthers who snatched victory by just 3 runs.

CCA Vipers won by 16 runs
Batting first the Barracudas built a solid score with contributions from the whole team and some late order hitting from James Bennett and Josh McClane. The innings finished on 114 - 7, with the team wanting a few more runs against a high scoring Vipers side. The Barracudas bowled well with Karan Thomas taking 2-18. but it was again the Vipers final pair of Jatin Naidu and Nitin Bhatt who sealed the game, Jatin hitting 25 not out to take the player of the match award and Nitin making 22.

CCA Panthers won by 22 runs
After finishing bottom in the group stages, the CCA Cougars had completed a brilliant turn aroud to defeat the group winners CCA Vipers in the semi finals. The Panthers had enjoyed a consistent tournament, missing out on top spot in the group by 1 point and winning a thrilling semi final.
Batting first the Cougars made 120 in their 16 overs. Jaydon Amin top scored with 33, and good support came from Vrithik Ramji (18) and Jack Dyer (17). Richard Gregory has bowled some excellent spells through the tournament and this was no exception as he took 3-16.
In reply, the Panthers kept a strong rhythm to their innings, Zain Hussain scoring 27. In the end the Panthers won convincingly as they kept wickets to a minimum. Jessica Lapworth was a star for the bowling side taking 2 wickets in as many balls, earning her the player of the match award.
Congratulations to all who took part, the standard of Cricket was exceptional and most importantly the tournament was played in a great spirit with all taking part having fun.
