CCA Junior Teams
Cricket season will always have rain around but this year it’s more than expected. It’s very frustrating for everyone and surely weather will improve and there will be plenty of cricket. We need to be patient and keep on top of our game so that when it happens we play to the best of our abilities. As you know due to weather we have still not started our campaign in the youth league. With more than 100 matches across the age groups there will be plenty of cricket and in addition we have Academy matches and also matches against international visiting schools. There will be lots of matches and we are sure the weather will improve.
We are also looking forward to hosting Northamptonshire County Cricket Club Under 17's, who will take part in a one day fixture on 20th May against CCA at Hinckley and a two day fixture later in the year. We are delighted to have fixtures against a major county and this will provide a great opportunity for hopefuls.
All our cricketers look in good form and we are sure through the matches in the summer it will help them progress further (when it all begins). All our coaches will make sure the best is available for all our cricketers in terms of playing matches and training.

Matches are the most important aspect of learning, the more youngsters play, the further they will develop. We are also organizing more matches than ever as we have a top class ground now. Development matches which will also involve coaching for the youngsters which will be played on Sunday afternoons at Hinckley Town CC. This is a new initiative and is bound to help cricketers in their development. We will inform players accordingly.
Easter Camp  2012

The training during the camp provided an excellent opportunity for all our young cricketers to put in some high quality preparation for the upcoming season. Alongside some focused training in the nets and around fielding work, all trainees got match practice.
Each afternoon of the camp was dedicated to indoor matches that help players in all areas of their skill and tactical development. With many players who attended the camp soon to be entering a long season, players will have the chance to use what they have learnt to continue improving their performance.
Visiting International Schools and Academies

We are excited about hosting international schools this year and they are visiting  to learn and have the experience of playing in English conditions. During their visit there will be matches played almost on a daily basis and again them and it is a great opportunity for our young cricketers to test themselves against foreign cricketers.
We will contact all players regarding these matches soon and we plan to give every player an opportunity to play against the touring schools.
MPL 4 Under 9's Outdoor Tournament

This year the MPL Under 9's tournament now in its 4th year will be held at Hinckley Town Cricket Club. This is a much awaited event as youngsters play series of matches.
All the cricketers participating will get a chance to play at a ground where first class cricket has been played previously and has lot of history.
We have organised the tournament over two Sunday's but the format remains the same like previous years including number of matches. Like before MPL 2012 promises to be a fantastic event for the players and their families.

June Half Term Camp

The June half term camp this year will be from Wednesday 6th to Friday 8th June. International students that are on tour will join camp this year and it will be great for the young cricketers to exchange ideas and experiences. We are also planning to play some outdoor matches during the camp.

Over the winter months, assessments were carried out for every trainee at CCA. After reviewing the assessments; there will be a series of clinics in batting, bowling and fielding. The clinics will be held soon and details will be available shortly. These sessions will be specific and will focus on technique within batting bowling and fielding. This will be another step towards development which will be vital.
