Our annual tour to Dubai took place from 17th to 26th October during the school half term holiday. CCA squad travelled to UAE and our host was the International Cricket Council (ICC) Academy.
The facilities at the ICC, Dubai Sports City are probably the world’s best high performance centre and we were privileged to share the same facilities with the international cricketers from Australia and Pakistan during our time at the ICC Academy.
Our youngsters played in six matches and had three coaching sessions including two Master Classes with former Test Cricketer and Head Coach at ICC, Mudassar Nazar. All the boys worked very hard and showed lots of improvement. Emphasis was also given on playing spin which is something international batsman constantly working on. Playing under floodlights at ICC was a very special experience.
Alongside cricket we also took time out to do sightseeing which included a memorable visit to the Shyam Bhatia Cricket Museum where legendary cricketers have personally visited. An afternoon watching the Test match between Australia and Pakistan was also very enjoyable.
We wrapped up our tour with a cricket tournament organised by the Desert Cubs.
Congratulations to all the youngsters for a fantastic tour.
Dubai – we will be back!!
